Reviews for Spanish Tutors

Mrs Morrison - Alan provided French tuition to my son weekly for a year before his A level. He was aspiring to study languages at university and aiming high but having taken his GCSE a year early and in lockdown he lacked confidence and was considerably behind where he needed to be. Alan worked very hard with him and helped to grow his confidence and ability so that he was able to score 89% at A level, just 0.25% off an A*. We were all delighted with this result and my son secured his place to read languages at Bristol. Alan was a great source of advice on ways to develop language skills outside the curriculum and also gave my son valuable insight on how he could use his languages in future careers. He was supportive and communicative at all times and was clearly invested in my son's success. I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

Ms Cresswell - Alan is an outstanding German tutor. His deep passion for the language and knowledge of German culture is evident, adding nuance to the subject whilst teaching. His enthusiasm for German is infectious, making every lesson I had engaging and inspiring. He brings complex grammar to life and tailored his approach to help me navigate the more challenging concepts. He not only taught the German required for the syllabus but went above and beyond in supporting me, even exploring different German opportunities as a career. Alan's compassion sets him apart. He is always patient and willing to go the extra mile to help me. No question was too small, and he was genuinely invested in my success, even contacting me after exams and results to ask how they went. His flexibility was equally impressive, accommodating schedules and adjusting lessons to focus on areas where help was most needed. Alan's ability to make learning both fun and accessible has helped me make tremendous progress in German, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. Student -17 years old

Dr Elmeshad - is a great teacher. She helped my daughter prepare for her GCSE Spanish exams. She was really dedicated and spared nothing to give the highest level of care. She helped with all parts of the exam preparation spoken and writing and I strongly recommend her.

Mr O'sullivan - Highly recommended and very effective.

Mr Jaleel - Maria is an excellent Spanish tutor. She has helped my daughter to maximise her potential in her Spanish GCSE exams, with dedicated teaching and feedback. I would 100% recommend booking with Maria as she knows the curriculum and what/ how best to prepare for the Spanish GCSE examinations. Thank you Maria!

Ms Whitworth - Loved my first lesson. I was nervous but Maria got the pace just right. Looking forward to more lessons.

Mr Tony Farrell - I have found David a challenging and supportive teacher throughout our short but very effective series of lessons. After an introductory chat we agreed the format of the lessons and David has each time set the challenge, reviewed my progress and moved onto a targeted conversation in Spanish. I believe the communication between us is relaxed, important for my confidence, and at the same time that necessary challenge in order for me to progress.

Lizzie M - My daughter felt she had a number of gaps in her Spanish A-Level knowledge, but David really helped her out. He's prepared her well for her exams, giving her some really useful pointers and much more confidence. He's been great and I'd happily recommend him.

Mrs Morentin - Leila formed a strong bond with our eight/now nine year old and has helped her develop in both maths and English. She found creative ways of helping our daughter particularly in writing, which she finds more challenging. Thank you Leila for all your help!

Mrs De Souza - Leila was very diligent and organised with our twins who responded well to her fun and skilled input.

Mrs Armstrong - Hi Phyllis, Just to let you know that Amy got an A * in French with full marks for speaking. So she got her Cambridge place. Thanks so much again for all your help. It gave her so much more confidence having had very few opportunities to speak French.

Mrs Endler - Thanks so much for your help with German It was her highest mark at A level She's really enjoyed her sessions and there's no doubt it had a huge impact.

Lucy Thorpe - This was a super Spanish lesson! An engaging set of activities that moved along at a good pace whilst scaffolding the less able learners and challenging the most able.

Mrs Jenny Elliott - Fiona is utterly professional in every respect and I have no reservation in recommending Fiona to you.

Mrs Davies - Sarah is an excellent teacher. She is very personable and responds admirably to the level of ability she has to cope with. She knows how to challenge me and I feel I have really made progress in the last few weeks. Thank you

Mrs De Garis - Our experience with Sarah has been first class from start to finish. She has helped my daughter to reignite her love of Spanish and to regain confidence she had lost. Sarah is friendly, down to earth and always really quick to respond to messages. I would definitely recommend.

Parent - Isabelle had an excellent experience working with Priscilla as her Spanish tutor. Priscilla was very encouraging, and highly skilled at explaining concepts in a clear and engaging way. Each lesson was well-structured and tailored to her learning goals, whether it was grammar, vocabulary or conversation practice. What I appreciated most was Priscillas ability to make learning Spanish enjoyable and relevant. She provided helpful materials, gave constructive feedback, and created a supportive learning environment. I highly recommend Priscilla to anyone looking for a GCSE tutor in Spanish as without tutoring by her she wouldn't have passed her GCSE. Her professionalism, passion for teaching, and commitment to student success make her an outstanding tutor.

Mrs Li - We were very impressed with Ms Penny's dedication and commitment to her tutoring. She engaged well with our child and applied various teaching strategies to ensure a good understanding. She was also very pleasant to communicate with.

Ms Steph Adams - Tiziana is a personable and engaging teacher who is very knowledgeable in a wide range of languages. She is patient and conscientious and would be a perfect language teacher for those studying at any linguistic level - whether beginner, advanced or in between!

Location
Online Tuition: Involves a Spanish tutor on the platform of your choice to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Online Tuition: Allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Spanish tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Spanish tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of Spanish tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between online, or small group Spanish tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
