Reviews for Maths Tutors

5.0

Mrs Tyson - Neil patiently and kindly supported our son in achieving a Grade 4 pass in his GCSE English Language, despite challenges due to the Covid impact, neurodiversity and overall limited confidence. Thank you Neil, our son is now doing great in his college work and progressing towards his dream.

Mrs Lawrence - Neil was a perfect tutor for my daughter Jasmine. He gave her the confidence and knowledge to jump two grades from a 4 to a 6 (GCSE) in just a couple of months! Thank you so much.

Nicola Scrancher Wilks - We would recommend Benjamin for tutoring because our daughter has shown improvement and enthusiasm to do Maths now! Her class teacher also praised her for her perseverance and improved attitude to taking on Maths challenges. She likes Benjamin's teaching style and is keen to complete the work set to the best of her ability!

Charlie Braidwood - Benjamin has an open and honest approach with his tutoring, whilst making the lessons fun and engaging for the students. Our daughter looks forward to the lessons each week and the tailored challenges that Benjamin brings outside the classroom.

Mr Hatter - Mark is an amazing tutor and helped both my kids with IB and GCSE

Mrs Cairns - Very helpful, clear and knowledgeable. Great communication with prompt learning sessions.

Mrs Privelege Chiadzwa - My daughter has done well working with Ashley for GCSE and A Level Maths and Further Maths. She has also enjoyed working through problems with him and found him a great help when revising or tackling new topics in school. I strongly recommend Ashley for Maths tuition should you need it.

Mr Crowson - Ashley is and has been amazing, he has helped our daughter more than we can ever thank him for we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ashley and TTYH to any of friends or family in the future. All the best, The Crowson's

Mr Wellappili - Patient with structured approach.

Dr Nuttall - Waheed taught my son for two years in preparation for his Science GCSE. Waheed not only helped my son to secure excellent grades in the subject, but also built his confidence as a student. Waheed turned out to be more than a science tutor to my son; he and his cousin, who also had lessons with Waheed, saw him as an inspirational role model. Through his teaching, Waheed was able to reinforce the importance of values such as hard work, and respect. My son, naturally a shy person, found an adult that he was at ease communicating with. Waheed was exceedingly flexible in providing additional lessons in the run up to the GCSEs, which was very useful in focusing preparation upon the individual papers. We will always be grateful for Waheed's efforts, and glad that we found such a wise and engaging teacher.

Dr Rachel Brown - My son had struggled with online learning during lockdown and emerged into his Year 11 with huge gaps in his knowledge and his confidence. As he is shy, he did not want to start learning with someone new, so it was always going to be a challenge for him to build a relationship in a short space of time via online teaching. Waheed did an incredible job of plugging the many gaps in his science knowledge, teaching him how to revise and organise himself but, more importantly, building his confidence and helping him overcome his mental blocks. In the period around his exams, Waheed tailored his timings and lessons to provide maximum support, and my son emerged with excellent results, despite science having been his weakest subject. Away from the actual learning, Waheed inspired my son with his warmth and care for him as a student, and I hope he's still available when my daughter is ready for her GCSEs.

Russell King - Chris has been a revelation as our son's Maths tutor. He seems to transport him to an almost magical world of Maths, where complex ideas and methods are demystified, fun, and engaging. Our son has so much more confidence with his Maths since Chris started tutoring him, and listening to them bounce ideas off each other during their sessions is a joy. Chris explains things in many different ways as needed until fully understood. Our son appreciates and enjoys being tutored by Chris and has only good things to say about him after every session.

Mrs Illsley - Chris is an excellent Maths Tutor. He really understood my daughter and she engaged with him brilliantly. He made it creative and fun and she learned loads and thankfully passed. We would definitely recommend Chris.

Miss Bowen - Colin has been such a wonderful tutor over the past several months. He has really helped our son improve upon his Economics skills for his forthcoming A-Level examinations. Colin has been accommodating and flexible with timings. He genuinely wants our son to do well in Economics. We would not hesitate to recommend Colin 100% and thank him for all of his invaluable input and knowledge in the hours spent tutoring our son.

Mrs Cyriax - A great tutor. His patience, teaching and encouragement greatly boosted my daughter's confidence and understanding for maths A Level. I could not recommend him enough.

Mr Mustafa - Ryan supported my son through his A-Levels. He provided clear structured lessons focussing on my son's needs and also instilled confidence that helped him improve from a difficult mock to an excellent final result. I highly recommend Ryan to anyone looking for a tutor.

Alice M - My son is doing so well with Jonathan. He is a superb tutor and a great ambassador for your company.

Ms Chandler - Great communication, explains the work well with my daughter and sets home work

Mrs Rudd - I am thrilled with the progress my son has made in maths, thanks to the outstanding tuition provided by Eileen. At the beginning of Year 12, my son was struggling at a Grade D, and was genuinely concerned about his academic future. However, after just four months of tutoring sessions, his grade has jumped to a Grade B already. One of the aspects that truly impressed me was how Eileen made complex concepts seem much more simple. Mrs Edwards Year 12 son A level (Edexcel)

Amanda Barnes - I was really struggling to find ways to help my son with his science subjects when he was feeling demotivated and lacking in confidence. Paul has managed to create a plan for him over the summer which was engaging, clear and pupil-led. He understood exactly what was needed! Plus the video recordings of each lesson will be invaluable moving forward. Thank you Paul!

Professor Jon Steed - Mike was a fantastic tutor with my eldest son, helping achieve top grades in Maths, Physics and Further Maths A-Levels. Results day was a very happy day in our household!

Location
Online Tuition: Involves a Maths tutor on the platform of your choice to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Online Tuition: Allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Maths tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Maths tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of Maths tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between online, or small group Maths tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
